When you specify a POST file to generate percentiles from Percent View will ask for a plot file as well if the POST file is in binary format.  If the POST file is in the plot (text) format, the additional plot file in not required.

When the POST file is in binary format it contains no information about the receptor locations.  By comparing the POST file to the plot file, Percent View is able to determine the receptor locations.
